Women’s Club of BG to make Valentine’s Day cards to distribute to senior care facilities

Bowling Green Women's Club meeting in February

GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green will meet on Feb. 7, at First Christian Church, at the corner of Poe and Haskins roads beginning at 7 p.m., in friendship and service to the community.

February is American Heart Month and club member Linda Moore will share personal experiences. Mary Mackzum will lead a Valentine’s Day card-making activity, which the club then distributes to area elder care facilities. Members are encouraged to wear red. Music for the evening will be presented by the BGSU School of Music.

A brief business meeting will follow to update and plan ongoing club projects. Sharon Franklin will update members on the upcoming Denim and Diamonds Fundraiser scheduled for April 13 at Simpson Garden Park. Candace Gillen will share Literature Group projects.

The designated charity for the evening is the Brown Bag Food Project, and the club will make a donation of $150 to the organization on behalf of members. Anyone interested in learning about the opportunities for service provided by GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green to the community and beyond, or who would like to attend a meeting, can consult the Women’s Club website at www.womensclubbg.org or any club member.
