The Wood County Committee on Aging (WCCOA), in partnership with the Wood County Community Health Center, is offering two new opportunities aimed at supporting emotional well-bring for older adults in the community.

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m., the community is invited to join WCCOA for “Stress Less, Live More” – a free educational session at the WCCOA Bowling Green Senior Center. Participants will learn practical stress management techniques from Wood County Community Health Center licensed behavioral health providers Renee Groman, MSSA, LISW-S, and Amy Johnson, MSW, LSW.

The interactive session will explore common causes and symptoms of stress, followed by hands-on practice with evidence-based techniques to help participants rethink, relax, release, reduce, and reorganize. Attendees will leave with a packet of at-home activities to continue their stress-reduction journey. Registration is required by calling 419-353-5661.

In addition, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 21, WCCOA will host one-on-one behavioral health counseling sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Bowling Green Senior Center. These confidential sessions, led by licensed behavioral health providers from the Wood County Community Health Center, are designed to help individuals manage stress, navigate life challenges, and build effective coping skills.
