Wood County Committee on Aging to honor senior veterans in their homes, Nov. 3

Wood County Committee on Aging plans to honor Wood County veterans 50 years of age and older with a special delivery to their homes. The first 85 veterans registered will receive a velvet poppy pin, yard sign, and a slice of pie delivered to their homes on Monday, Nov. 3, between 1 – 4 p.m.

Veterans, or those who know veterans in Wood County age 50 years and older, are encouraged to call the programs department to register at 419-353-5661 or 1-800-367-4935 or email programs@wccoa.net.

Registration will require the veteran’s name, address, branch of service, phone number, and confirmation that they will be home to receive their acknowledgement. Registration will be accepted until Monday, Oct. 27, or until registration is full.

The pie slices have been sponsored by Bowling Green Manor, and the yard signs have been sponsored by Amada Senior Care, Hanneman Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, and Ohioans Home Health and Hospice.
