Wood County Democratic Party Statement Regarding the Acts of Hate and Anti-Semitism in Grand Rapids, Ohio

The Wood County Democratic Pany unequivocally denounces all forms of hate including but not limited to bigotry, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia sexism, and anti-semitism. We stand firmly against any ideology or act that seeks to marginalized discriminate, or son division among people based or race, religion, ethnicity, nationality gender identity, sexual orientations or any other aspect of identity. These toxic forces have no place in our community or in our society, and we are committed to promoting a culture of inclusivity, equality, and mutual respect for all.

We believe that diversity strengthens our community and enhances our ability to face challenges together. As such, we actively oppose any rhetorics action, or behavior that seeks to divide us or silence others based on their identify or beliefs. This election, and every election, should be a time when all citizens are able to freely express their views, advocate for their chosen candidates, and participate in the democratic process without fear of harassment, intimidation, theft, or defacement of property. Political expression is a fundamental right in our democracy, and any attempts to suppress that right—whether through hateful rhetoric, destruction of campaign materials, or other acts of vandalism — must be unequivocally condemned. We stand with every person who seeks to engage peacefully and proudly in this election.

Democracy thrives when people feel safe to share their voices and participate in civic life, free from the threat of violence, or defacement. Together, we strive to ensure that Wood County remains a welcoming and safe place for everyone, regardless of their political or personal beliefs. As we move through this election season,  let us recommit ourselves to fostering a community where people can speak their minds and express themselves openly without fear of retribution or discrimination.
