George, who is currently the longest stay at the Wood County Dog Shelter, spent Thursday afternoon hanging out with the Bowling Green Fire Division. He had a blast playing ball, getting to explore the fire trucks, and hanging out with first responders.
The county dog shelter is partnering with BG Fire Division to bring shelter dogs to give the dogs a break from the shelter, and give the first responders a little break from their busy days.

George is about 3 years old, neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on his vaccines.
George absolutely loves people and would make a great family dog, according to Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding. He can be picky with his canine friends so he would do best as the only pet in the home. He loves to go for walks and walks great on the leash.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.
The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
