Wood County has 34 confirmed cases of COVID-19

Wood County now has 34 residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the daily update from the Wood County Health Department on Monday, April 6.

Of those 34 people, 17 are hospitalized. As of Monday, Wood County Hospital has two patients who tested positive for COVID-19. Those not hospitalized are staying isolated in their homes.

They range in age from 20 to 96, with the median age of 59. Of those with the virus,  21 are female, 13 are male.

The tests are not readily available in Wood County, so local officials predict there are many more people here with the virus.

No additional information about the 34 Wood County residents will be provided by the health department in order to protect their privacy. 

As of today, Ohio has 4,450 cases, with 1,214 hospitalizations and 142 deaths. The age range has been 1 to 101 years old.
