From WOOD COUNTY MUSEUM
The Wood County Museum invites the community to participate in its foam turkey drop fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 12:30 p.m., in the Wood County Museum Parking Lot, 13660 County Home Road, Bowling Green. To participate, people can purchase a foam turkey for $50 each; only 300 turkeys will be sold.
Foam turkeys can be purchased online, at the museum, or on location until noon on the day of the event, before the drop, while supplies last. The drop will take place at approximately 12:30 p.m. People do not have to be present to win.
Toledo Aerial Media (TAM) will use a drone to drop numbered foam turkeys onto the parking lot. The three foam turkeys closest to the target will win prizes.
Prizes
- Two targets, two of each cash prize
- First closest to target: $1,000
- Second closest to target: $750
- Third closest to target: $500
- Various other non-cash prizes
New in 2025, people are invited to have lunch at the event; turkey dogs and sides will be available for a donation. In case of inclement weather, the turkey drop will be rescheduled.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Wood County Historical Society to help support educational programs, future exhibits, and collections management.
