From OFFICE OF THE WOOD COUNTY RECORDER
Wood County Recorder Connor Rose has released the third quarter 2025 report detailing real estate transaction activity including deed and mortgage filings, and compared those numbers with the same period in 2024.
In the third quarter of 2025, the recorder’s office recorded 966 deeds, representing a 5.23% increase from the 918 deeds filed in the third quarter of 2024. The total consideration value of those deeds reached $191.8 million, marking a substantial 31.95% decrease from the $281.9 million of recorded consideration in the same quarter last year, in 2024.
“The overall decrease in consideration value is likely due less to market changes and more to the $92.3 million sale of the Walgreens Distribution Center on Oregon Road in Q3 2024. When removing that single sale from the report, the consideration value actually increased nominally by 1.16% from Q3 2024 to Q3 2025,” said Rose.
During the third quarter of 2025, the recorders office recorded 1,050 mortgage documents, an 11.11% increase, compared to the 945 recordings in the third quarter of 2024.
The recorder’s office will continue to monitor trends in real estate transactions across Wood County and keep the public informed through regular updates.
