Wood County reports 241 new COVID cases, 9 hospitalizations since Monday

Wood County has reported 241 new COVID cases, and nine new hospitalizations since Monday, according to today’s report from the Wood County Health Department.

That brings the total for the county to 16,243 cases, 241 deaths, and 755 hospitalizations from COVID.

Wood County is seeing an average of 60 new COVID cases each day, and is now at 375 COVID cases per 100,000 residents, keeping the county in the high transmission range.

During the last two weeks, the 619 new COVID cases in the county broken down into ZIP Code areas show that all areas of the county are affected. The highest number of cases in the last two weeks were reported in Perrysburg, 159; Bowling Green, 142; BGSU campus, 9; Northwood, 60; North Baltimore, 31; Walbridge, 28; Pemberville, 27; Weston, 22; and Rossford, 20.

Several schools in the county have reported recent cases of COVID. For the week of Sept. 20, there were 79 cases among students, and 9 among staff, including:

  • Elmwood, 3 students, 2 staff.
  • Lake, 3 students, 1 staff.
  • North Baltimore, 2 students, 0 staff.

  • Otsego, 6 students, 0 staff.
  • Penta, 8 students, 0 staff.
  • Perrysburg, 25 students, 1 staff.
  • Rossford, 11 students, 0 staff.
  • Westside Montessori in Perrysburg, 1 student, 1 staff.
  • Wood County Education Service Center, 0 students, 1 staff.
