Wood County has reported 285 new COVID cases, two more deaths and eight more hospitalizations since Monday, according to today’s report from the Wood County Health Department.
That brings the total for the county to 20,583 cases, 285 deaths, and 912 hospitalizations from COVID.
Wood County is seeing an average of 61 new COVID cases each day, and is now at 533 COVID cases per 100,000 residents, keeping the county in the high transmission range.
During the last two weeks, the 901 new COVID cases in the county broken down into ZIP Code areas show that all areas of the county are affected. The highest number of cases in the last two weeks were reported in Perrysburg, 272; Bowling Green, 211; North Baltimore, 51; Rossford, 49; Northwood, 47; Weston, 42; Walbridge, 35; Pemberville, 28; BGSU, 23; Millbury, 21; West Millgrove, 15; Grand Rapids, 14; Rudolph, 13; Luckey, 13; Bradner, 12; and Portage, 11.
Several schools in the county have reported recent cases of COVID. The report issued Dec. 9 gave an update of 134 student and 15 staff cases, including:
- BG City Schools, 16 students, 6 staff.
- Eastwood, 12 students, 1 staff.
- Lake, 6 students, 0 staff.
- North Baltimore, 1 student, 0 staff.
- Otsego, 11 students, 0 staff.
- Perrysburg, 56 students, 7 staff.
- Penta, 21 students, 0 staff.
- Rossford, 11 students, 0 staff.
- Wood County Educational Service Center, 0 students, 1 staff.
As of this week, the following long-term care facilities in Wood County reported new COVID cases:
- Briar Hill Health Campus, 6 residents, 3 staff.
- Brookdale, Bowling Green, 1 resident, 2 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg, 0 residents, 1 staff.
- SKLD Perrysburg, 2 residents, 4 staff.
