Wood County has reported 332 new COVID cases, seven more deaths, and 21 more hospitalizations since Monday, according to today’s report from the Wood County Health Department.
That brings the total for the county to 21,681 cases, 297 deaths, and 977 hospitalizations from COVID.
Wood County is seeing an average of 83 new COVID cases each day, and is now at 414 COVID cases per 100,000 residents, keeping the county in the high transmission range.
During the last two weeks, the 759 new COVID cases in the county broken down into ZIP Code areas show that all areas of the county are affected. The highest number of cases in the last two weeks were reported in Perrysburg, 263; Bowling Green, 156; Walbridge, 63; Northwood, 58; North Baltimore, 36; Rossford, 35; Pemberville, 28; Weston, 23; Millbury, 18; Grand Rapids, 15; Fostoria, 13; Bloomdale, 13; and Bradner, 13.
Several schools in the county have reported recent cases of COVID. The report issued Dec. 23 gave an update of 97 student and 12 staff cases, including:
- BG Christian Academy, 1 student, 1 staff.
- BG City Schools, 8 students, 2 staff.
- Eastwood, 16 students, 2 staff.
- Elmwood, 2 students, 0 staff.
- Lake, 7 students, 1 staff.
- North Baltimore, 2 students, 0 staff.
- Northwood, 3 students, 0 staff.
- Otsego, 11 students, 0 staff.
- Perrysburg, 24 students, 4 staff.
- Penta, 8 students, 0 staff.
- Rossford, 12 students, 2 staff.
- St. Rose, 3 students, 0 staff.
As of this week, the following long-term care facilities in Wood County reported new COVID cases:
- Briar Hill Health Campus, 1 resident, 0 staff.
- SKLD Perrysburg, 16 residents, 1 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, 0 residents, 1 staff.
- Wood Haven Health Care, 4 residents, 2 staff.
