Wood County Sheriff’s Office to increase patrol over Thanksgiving

From WOOD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

The Wednesday of Thanksgiving week is the highest drinking night of the year. Everyone is encouraged to be sure to have a safe way home should they be impaired.

Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn announced that the Wood County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting increased patrol over the Thanksgiving holiday, thanks to grant funding from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office. This blitz will begin Wednesday, Nov. 26, and continue through Sunday, Nov. 30.

Deputies will pay particular attention for violations, such as driving under the influence, failure to yield, and speeding; all of which are leading factors in fatal crashes. There will be zero tolerance for driving under the influence and seat belt violations.
