Workshop for grandparents with grandchildren on the autism spectrum planned at senior center

Wood County Senior Center

A workshop is planned in Bowling Green for grandparents who have grandchildren on the autism spectrum.

The Wood County Committee on Aging, in partnership with the Communication and Neurodiversity Lab, led by Dr. Siva priya Santhanam at Bowling Green State University, invites grandparents who have grandchildren on the autistic spectrum to participate in a study on autism and communication.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, June 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St., Bowling Green.

Participants will attend a three-hour educational workshop, complete two surveys, and a short interview. Grandparents will gain knowledge about autism, how to improve communication with their grandchild, and will receive a $40 gift card for their time.

To indicate interest, contact the programs department at programs@wccoa.net or call 419-353-5661 to participate.
