2 Florida men arrested for trafficking in marijuana, improper handling of firearm

Two Florida men were arrested this weekend after Bowling Green police found marijuana, $7,582 in cash, and a loaded firearm in their vehicle.

On Saturday at 1:06 a.m., an officer reportedly saw a white Lincoln Navigator cross the center line while making a wide turn onto Clough Street from South College Drive. The vehicle was stopped in the 1400 block of Clough Street, and the officer reported a strong odor of burnt marijuana from inside.

The driver, Marlon Sierra, 23, of Miami, Florida, reportedly had a zip lock bag of suspected marijuana, a zip lock bag of glue, and a large amount of folded cash.

When searching the vehicle, officers reported an odor of raw marijuana. In the center console, they reportedly found a shipping envelope with a large amount of cash, plus a wallet with five $100 bills.

Also in the center console, police reportedly found a black Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm semi-automatic pistol with the magazine inserted. It had a bullet in the chamber with five additional bullets in the magazine.

As they continued the search, officers reported finding small containers of suspected hashish wax in the driver`s door storage area and the rear seat arm rest area.

Behind the driver’s seat was a backpack with zip lock bags containing suspected marijuana – which later weighed in at 60.9 grams, 35.4 grams and 20.5 grams.

The back pack also reportedly contained a 3.5 gram sealed package of “Tang Eray” cannabis flower, two 3.5 gram sealed packages of “Pineapple OG” cannabis flower, a 3.5 gram sealed package of “Insane Phunk” cannabis flower, three small glass containers of suspected hashish wax, and a digital scale.

Sierra reportedly told police all the marijuana and cash were his, and that he was in the process of getting a permit to carry a concealed firearm. When asked why he carried so much cash, he reportedly told police that he had no bank account.

Sierra was placed under arrest for trafficking in drugs.

However, a passenger in the vehicle, Anthony Solorzano, 21, of South Miami, Florida, told another officer that the marijuana was his.

According to the police report, Solorzano yelled to Sierra, “Yo I told you I was gonna take the weed dog.” Solorzano then stated, “I told you I was gonna take the weed bro.” He then told Sierra, “Tell them it’s mine, tell them right now.”

Sierra then told the officers, “Look, the weed is his.” An officer reminded Sierra that he had already said the marijuana was his, but Sierra explained that he didn’t want to snitch.

Solorzano was arrested for trafficking in drugs. Sierra was charged with trafficking in drugs and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Both were taken to the Wood County Jail.
