27 vehicles towed from BG ‘snow streets’ on Sunday

Bowling Green snowplow on East Court Street

Twenty-seven vehicles were towed from Bowling Green streets on Sunday, after their owners failed to move them from “snow streets,” according to Police Lt. Dan Mancuso.

Certain parking restrictions are instituted on snow streets when a snow emergency is declared. Snow streets are marked with blue and white signs.

A full list can also be found on the City’s website: https://www.bgohio.org/departments/public-works-department/public-works-division/snow-guidelines/.

A snow emergency within the city may be declared if two inches of snow accumulate. If a snow emergency is declared between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., vehicles parked on a snow street must be removed within two hours of the declaration. If a snow emergency is declared overnight, vehicles must be removed by 9 a.m.

Vehicles parked in violation of snow regulations are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense and a citation may be issued.

Residents wishing to know immediately if the city declares a snow emergency are urged to download CodeRED for emergency alerts.

Designated streets and other winter regulations are also posted to the city’s website and can be accessed on the homepage.
