Reflecting continued momentum at Bowling Green State University, several of the University’s graduate degree programs have once again been nationally recognized in U.S. News and World Report’s 2025 Best Graduate School rankings.
BGSU remains a top choice for graduate education, supporting students’ career advancement and leadership development, while positioning them for success in ever-evolving industries.

This year, sociology climbed 15 spots in the national rankings to No. 64 and remains a top choice in Ohio and among public universities in the Midwest, ranking No. 2 and No. 11, respectively.
With leading faculty members and two nationally recognized research centers, the BGSU sociology program helps meet growing workforce demands, preparing students through a comprehensive education and valuable, hands-on research experience.
The speech-language pathology program also ranked among the nation’s best, placing in the top 27% of programs. Demonstrating the University’s commitment to academic excellence and career success, the program boasts a 100% passage rate of the state licensure exam and 95% employment rate.
Graduate programs in statistics and the fine arts are also among the nation’s top-tier programs, ranking at No. 72 and No. 73, respectively.
Graduates of the master of applied statistics program have built successful careers at prominent national companies such as Honda, Nike, The Walt Disney Company, Nationwide Insurance, Capital One and more.
BGSU School of Art students have unique opportunities through support from the RING Center for Experiential Learning in Art and Design to enhance their knowledge through study abroad, internships, professional development, hands-on training and access to cutting-edge technologies.
The RING Center was established in 2024 through a transformational anonymous $5 million donation to the BGSU School of Art, one of the largest art schools among public universities in Ohio.
Additional programs recognized as part of this year’s rankings include clinical psychology, ranking in the top 28% of programs nationwide at No. 115, English at No. 131, psychology tied at No.140 and public administration at No. 165.
