University Women of BGSU will be hosting its Annual Spring Social and 50/50 raffle at Arlyn’s Good Beer, 508 Hankey Ave., on June 6 from 5-10 p.m. There will be a food truck – Wailing Onion, with smash burgers and sides – and beverages from Arlyn’s. The event is open to everyone.

Formally, the main objective of the University Women is to encourage a friendly and cooperative spirit within its diversified membership and to foster a continuing interest in BGSU and its surrounding communities. Additionally, the organization strives to encourage and assist part-time or full-time undergraduate women through scholarship funding.

Informally, the group provides social fellowship for members, primarily through various smaller interest groups. New members are welcome at any time. The entire group meets as well for planned social events throughout the year, at which time spouses and friends who may want to join are encouraged to attend.

The organization’s special interest groups include gardening, antiques, art museum, bridge, community service, knitting/crocheting, book groups, lunch bunch, travelers, music, movies, and more. More information about University Women can be found at www.universitywomenofbgsu.com

The money raised from the 50/50 raffle will be used for scholarship funding. In 2024 four non-traditional female students were presented with 2024-2025 scholarships for $2,000 and one $1,000 scholarship.
