Man arrested after allegedly attacking fellow resident at Northwest Community Corrections Center

A Defiance man was arrested Tuesday (July 1) after he allegedly attacked a fellow resident at the Northwest Community Corrections Center, 1740 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green.

Bowling Green Police Division was dispatched to Wood County Hospital around 10 p.m., to talk with the alleged victim and a staff member from the corrections center.

A supervisor at the facility told police that Nicholas Gebers, 19, Defiance, had slammed the other inmate’s head into a door and began kneeing him. The victim had scratches to his face and shoulder, and a swollen lump above his left eye. Police were able to view camera footage of the alleged assault.

Gebers was arrested for assault, and taken to Wood County Jail.
