Wood County Auditor’s Office recovers unclaimed funds from state

From WOOD COUNTY AUDITOR’S OFFICE

After a review and coordinated effort, the Wood County Auditor’s Office successfully recovered nearly $1,000 in unclaimed funds from the State of Ohio. The recovered amount was comprised of 13 separate claims on behalf of seven county departments and included the interest accrued while the state held the funds.

The auditor’s office remains dedicated to identifying and reclaiming public dollars owed to the county, helping to ensure taxpayer resources are properly accounted for and returned to active use in support of county operations.

The public is encouraged to check for their own unclaimed funds at both Wood County and the State of Ohio. To do so, visit the following links: https://auditor.co.wood.oh.us and click on the “Unclaimed Funds” link or https://unclaimedfunds.ohio.gov/.
