BG man asks judicial candidates to ‘Show us the receipts’

Show Us the Receipts

Let’s cut the reverence. Every election cycle, judicial candidates ask for sweeping authority over our freedom, families, and livelihoods, then demand we accept evidence they would laugh out of their own courtrooms: self-serving anecdotes, questionable statistics, and back-scratching endorsements from political pals. But praise is not proof, pushing paper through a calendar is not due process, and twenty years on a payroll is not a proxy for competence. No candidate (incumbent or challenger) is owed a robe, and no amount of institutional prestige can disguise a record that fails independent scrutiny.

If you want the public’s trust to wield a gavel, show us the independently verifiable receipts. Otherwise, save the grandstanding and pass the mints.
