View & Chew and Ohio Goes to the Movies are teaming up for one final movie presentation on Wednesday, Oct. 21, featuring the Halloween favorite, “Hocus Pocus.” The free screening will take place at the Virginia Theater, 119 N. Main St., North Baltimore.
Released in 1993, “Hocus Pocus” bas become a Halloween classic, starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker as three witches accidentally brought back to life. The movie was chosen for its connection to Ohio through Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Sarah Sanderson and was born and raised in Nelsonville, Ohio.
This showing is made possible through the collaboration of the North Baltimore Ohio Area Historical Society, North Baltimore Public Library, and the Virginia Theater. Together, these community partners are bringing residents a free movie experience while celebrating Ohio’s connections to the film industry as part of the America 250-Ohio celebration.
The screening will also mark North Baltimore’s final Ohio Goes to the Movies presentation, wrapping up 250 days of Ohio movies. Attendees are encouraged to join in the Halloween fun by dressing as their favorite “Hocus Pocus” character or wearing any Halloween costume.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the movie will begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free, and concessions will be available for purchase. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy one last Ohio Goes to the Movies celebration at the Virginia Theater.
