Samantha “Sammie” Rosemary May, 33, of Risingsun, Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Toledo ProMedica Hospital. She was born September 10, 1993 in Bowling Green, Ohio to William & JoAnn (Bowling) May.
She is survived by her mother JoAnn May of Risingsun, brother Andrew (Sophie) May of Wayne, sister Miranda May (Andrew Schilt) of Findlay, fiancé Allen Bowen of Findlay, nieces Grace May, nephews Paul & Gavin May, great nephew Casey “Ace” May.
She is preceded in death by her father William May, brother Casey May, grandfathers Bill Bowling & John May, grandmothers Rosemary Bowling & Louise May.
Sammie graduated with awards & honors from Treca Digital Academy when she was 16 years old and also attended some college. Since Sam graduated at an early age, she went to work for several years before having to stop working. She worked several years for her grandfather at Bowling Transportation and then for a home health company in Florida. She had started planning to open her own home health company one day. She loved to sing and karaoke any chance she got. Country music was her favorite to sing. She recorded a demo cd in Los Angeles at one point and had a band she loved to join onstage when she was invited to do so. She had a love for anything that glittered and shined. Purple was always her favorite color, so most things she owned were a shade of purple with a dash of sparkle.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, Ohio with Pat Weidner officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 18, 2026 from 2-6 p.m. & from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove, Ohio.
