A second OVI checkpoint in Wood County is planned for tonight, this one in Haskins. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Haskins Police Department and the Ohio State Patrol, will hold a checkpoint from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Ohio 64 in Haskins.
The other checkpoint is on North Main Street in Bowling Green.
The OVI checkpoints, funded by federal grant funds, are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reminds drivers who drink to arrange for designated drivers, and to call 911 if they suspect an impaired driver.
