Cubberley to run for Wood County Clerk of Courts in 2020

Doug Cubberley is seeking the position of Wood County Clerk of Courts in the 2020 election.

Cindy Hofner announced earlier this year that she would not seek re-election to this position. Cubberley made his announcement in September and filed his petitions for candidacy with the Wood County Board of Elections on Oct. 25.

Cubberley brings 33 years of experience in the Wood County and Municipal Court system to the position of Clerk of Courts. He has served as the court administrator at the Bowling Green Municipal Court for the last nine years while serving as bailiff and chief probation officer since January 1996.

Cubberley participated in the Ohio Supreme Court Judicial College Court Management Program and achieved the status of certified court manager in 2010. In September 2013, he completed the second tier of the court management program and is presently a certified court executive.

Cubberley presently serves as the treasurer for the Ohio Association for Court Administration and is the chairman of the Wood County Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services Board. He is a founding member of the Wood County Opiate Taskforce and helped develop and implement Project Direct Link, the Vivitrol injection program presently in place at the Wood County Justice Center.

He is a past board president of the Cocoon Shelter and has served on the Bowling Green Community Foundation since October 2014. He has been active with the Black Swamp Arts Festival for a number of years and is the co-chair of the Site and Logistics Committee and he presently serves on the Bowling Green Traffic Commission.

Cubberley lives in Bowling Green with his wife Linda and they are the proud parents of four children and six grandchildren.
