One man has been arrested for aggravated robbery in Bowling Green, and police continue to search for another man possibly involved.
Isaiah Hill, 21, of Ashtabula, was charged after a woman living in the 700 block of Elm Street reported being robbed in her home by two men – one armed with a handgun and the other with a hammer on the afternoon of Dec. 12. The men were dressed in all black, with one reportedly wearing a black ski mask.
The woman told police she was sleeping when two suspects jumped on her bed and demanded money. One reportedly straddled her, covered her mouth, and put a gun to her head. She reportedly told the men she had none, but that she could contact a friend who could get some money.
According to the police report, she called a friend and asked him to transfer $500 through a “Cash App” to an account provided by one of the men.
The men allegedly told the woman that they had tied up her roommate. The roommate later said she was in the shower and heard nothing when the robbery occurred.
The police were notified of the incident by the woman’s mother. The victim said she was afraid to call police in case the suspects were still in the area.
An officer did stop a man nearby who matched the description of the suspects. That man was not involved in the incident, however, he did tell police that he had just seen two men in black hoodies run past him.
The victim did not give police permission to extract the data from her phone, so police got a warrant to do so. A recent snapchat story on the phone showed a photo of Hill. The woman identified him as the suspect with the handgun, but denied knowing him.
