Snow expected this evening, continuing into Thursday

Jeff Klein, Emergency Management Agency  director for Wood County, has issued the following advisory:

Updating everyone on the weather we are expecting this evening.  Light snow will begin for our area around 5–6 p.m.  Overnight we can expect 3” of snow with the heaviest period between 9 p..m and 2 a.m.  The snow will change to freezing rain or sleet with the most precipitation 3-6 a.m.  Precipitation will continue  throughout Thursday with an additional 1” of snow.  Expect sleet/freezing rain to remain a possibility until 6p.m. when only snow will continue.

Depending on how the timing plays out, there is a potential for slippery to hazardous roads in the morning.  We encourage everyone to monitor local media for your local conditions and plan on a longer drive time.

The EMA will continue to monitor and provide any updates as they become available.
