The medical director of Wood Haven Health Care has tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr. Thomas E. Wojciechowski Sr., of Bowling Green, took precautions by wearing protective gear and sanitizing medical equipment such as his stethoscope in between patients, according to Wood County Administrator Andrew Kalmar.
Wood Haven Health Care was working today to notify all the residents, their families and the staff at the facility about the positive test.
Other than Wojciechowski, there are no other confirmed or probable cases at the facility located on East Gypsy Lane Road in Bowling Green. Wood Haven has a backup medical director.
Wojciechowski also serves as medical director for other long-term care facilities in the area.
