One rite of spring – loud parties in Bowling Green – continue to occur despite the stay-at-home orders issued for Ohioans.
Bowling Green Police Division issued 14 citations over the weekend for disorderly conduct after receiving complaints about loud music or gatherings of people.
Most involved just a few people, but police had to make repeat visits to one address where large groups of people had gathered.
Loud parties are commonplace in the college town.
“We do get quite a few loud party complaints,” BG Police Lt. Dan Mancuso said Monday morning. But they have been far fewer this spring, with people being ordered to not gather in groups.
Police responded to two complaints about loud parties at the same address in the 900 block of Fourth Street – first on Saturday around 12:30 a.m., and again on Saturday at 2:46 p.m. Police found 30 to 40 people inside during their first visit, and 30 to 40 people outside during their second visit to the address.
Other disorderly conduct citations were handed out for loud parties this past weekend on Burrwood Drive, High Street, Buttonwood Avenue, South College Drive, North Enterprise, Klotz Road, South Summit Street, South Church Street, and Manville Avenue.
