Wood County has reached 383 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases since March, according to the Wednesday, July 1, update from the Wood County Health Department. That is an increase of four cases since Tuesday.
As of today there are 31 active cases in the county.
The Bowling Green area currently has between 16 and 20 active cases, and the Perrysburg area has between six and 10 active cases. The areas of Bloomdale, Millbury, North Baltimore, Pemberville and Walbridge all have between one and five active cases.
Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by Zip Code. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
A total of 51 people with the virus in Wood County have died since March.
Of the 51 who have died, 26 were females, and 25 were males. Seven were in their 60s, 11 in their 70s, 23 in their 80s, and 10 in their 90s.
Of the total 383 cases in Wood County, at least 207 have been in long-term care facilities – 130 were residents and 77 were staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.
The following facilities have had cases, as of July 1:
- SKLD Perrysburg: 49 residents, 7 staff.
- Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 17 staff.
- Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 25 staff.
- The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 6 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 14 staff.
- Otterbein Pemberville: 0 residents, 1 staff.
- Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Briar Hill Health Campus: 1 resident, 4 staff.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 42 of Wood County’s 51 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.
Of the total 383 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 53. Of the local cases, 228 are females and 155 are males.
A total of 70 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus since March.
