Wood County has 1,120 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 since March, according to the Friday, Aug. 14, update from the Wood County Health Department. That is an increase of 11 cases since Thursday.
A total of 58 county residents have died since March.
As of today there are 86 active cases in the county, which is seven fewer than on Thursday. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by Zip Code. As of Aug. 12, there were 17 areas in the county with active cases.
The Perrysburg area had between 46 and 50 active cases, and the Bowling Green and Northwood areas each had between 11 and 15 active cases. The Millbury and North Baltimore areas each had 6 to 10 cases.
Areas with 1 to 5 cases each include Bradner, Cygnet, Fostoria, Jerry City, Pemberville, Portage, Risingsun, Rossford, Tontogany, Walbridge, Wayne and Weston.
Of the 58 who have died, one was in their 50s, seven were in their 60s, 14 in their 70s, 25 in their 80s, and 11 in their 90s. Of the deaths, 31 have been females, and 27 have been males.
Of the total 1,120 cases in Wood County, at least 267 have been in long-term care facilities – 168 were residents and 99 were staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.

- Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 19 staff.
- Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 27 staff.
- The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 7 staff.
- Heartland of Perrysburg: 23 residents, 1 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg: 5 residents, 18 staff.
- Otterbein Pemberville: 3 residents, 5 staff.
- Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore: 11 residents, 9 staff.
- Brookdale, Bowling Green: 0 residents, 1 staff.
- Wood Lane Residential Werner House: 1 resident, 1 staff.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 47 of Wood County’s 58 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.
Of the total 1,120 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 42. The number of females is 604, and males is 516.
A total of 111 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus since March.
