During his COVID-19 press conference today, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine mentioned a high school sports team in Wood County that had nine members test positive for coronavirus after the team held a sleepover.
According to the Wood County Health Department, releasing additional details about the outbreak – including which school district is involved – would risk identifying people who are involved. The health department is legally obligated to not release protected health information.
The health department is investigating, including speaking with anyone considered a close contact of someone who tested positive, according to CDC and state guidelines.
