Reports of new COVID-19 cases at Bowling Green State University held steady in the past week.
For the period March 15 through March 21, 26 new cases were reported – 20 students and six staff. Of those students 80 percent live off campus. In the previous week, 30 new cases – 26 students, four staff – were reported. Since the first of the year, 364 cases were reported – 310 students, seven faculty and 47 staff.
Currently four students who have tested positive are in isolation in housing on campus while two students who have been exposed to the virus are in quarantine in residence halls.
The university has conducted 1,163 tests of symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals, and diagnosed 14 cases, a 1.2 percent positivity rate. The state rate is 3.2 percent.
Since the beginning of the semester, the university has conducted 14,358 tests, finding 402 positives, a 2.8 percent positivity rate.
