Wood County is now up to 13,133 confirmed and probable cases from COVID-19 since last March, according to the Thursday, May 13, update from the Wood County Health Department.
That is 46 new cases since the last report on Monday, May 10.
The county has recorded a total of 221 deaths from COVID, with no new deaths since Monday.
A total of 651 local residents have been hospitalized for the coronavirus since last March, with three more being hospitalized since Monday.
The county currently has 122 cases per 100,000 residents.
As of Thursday, a total of 61,464 local residents have gotten at least their first dose of a COVID vaccine. That is 46.98% of the county population.
Every Thursday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by ZIP codes. As of this week, there are six areas in the county with active cases.
The Perrysburg ZIP code area has the most active cases with 42. The Bowling Green ZIP code area has the next highest number this week, having 37 active cases. Northwood is next with 16, followed by Rossford with 11, Walbridge with 8, and Weston with 8.
The latest COVID numbers reported for schools in the county included 19 students and one staff:
- Bowling Green City Schools: 3 students.
- Eastwood: 6 students.
- Elmwood: 1 student.
- Northwood: 3 students.
- Penta Career Center: 1 student.
- Perrysburg: 3 students, 1 teacher.
- Rossford: 2 students.
One long-term care facility in Wood County, Otterbein Perrysburg, reported one new COVID case involving a staff member.
