The zoning change for the new city administration building was approved Monday evening by Bowling Green City Council.
A public hearing was held prior to the council meeting on the plan to change 1.4 acres to B-3 central business zoning, to allow for a new city building to be constructed where the former Wood County Senior Center was located at 305 N. Main St. The zoning change also covers the site of the current city building and a neighboring residence at 304 and 316 N. Church St.
The Planning, Zoning and Economic Development Committee of City Council recommended the zoning change with member Greg Robinette calling it “prudent” and member John Zanfardino calling it a “no-brainer.”
The front facade of the old senior center will be preserved for use as the front of the new city building.
