Bowling Green Police received a call Friday, around 7:30 p.m., about a suspicious person hanging out in the hallway of an apartment building in the 800 block of Scott Hamilton Avenue.
The man was reportedly wearing a fast food restaurant uniform.
Police found Curtis Dewberry, 25, of Bowling Green, who had an active warrant for his arrest, sitting on the front step.
When police searched him, the officer found a Jeep key in his pocket. Dewberry reportedly said a friend gave him the key, but he does not have a valid driver’s license. The vehicle was located in the parking lot, and a message was left for the owner to contact police.
Dewberry was charged with burglary, and taken to the Wood County Jail.
The owner of the car contacted police, and advised that she did not know Dewberry. She reportedly left for work around 7:35 a.m., and was startled by a man in a fast food uniform in the hallway by her apartment. She left without locking her door.
Sometime during the day, Dewberry reportedly entered the apartment and took the spare vehicle key. Nothing else was taken from the apartment.
