Pemberville Garden Party to feature carriage rides and ice tea party

Downtown Pemberville’s upcoming Garden Party on Tuesday, July 26, will feature carriage rides and an iced tea party.

The horse-drawn carriage, provided by Ohio Carriage Service, will take passengers around Pemberville at a cost of $35 for up to four adults.

People should call 419-287-3274 to reserve a ride.

From 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, local vendors will set up along downtown Pemberville to provide fresh produce and plants, sweet treats, and handmade goods. 

Karrie and Karla, from the Summer Kitchen in Helena, will provide an Iced Tea Party. They will teach a class on three ways to make iced tea and three ways to sweeten it. People will be able to create their own iced tea blends to take home. The class is $18. RSVP at 419-287-3274 to reserve a space.

This month’s vendors include: Hutchison Family Farms, LLC – maple syrup, fresh milled flour, fresh produce and herbs; Stony Ridge United Methodist Church – handcrafted bowl holders and kitchen boas, homemade treats and edibles; Harold Leemaster – soap, lotion, creams, and herbal salves; Country Creek, LLC – plants, fresh produce, herbs, microplants, and succulents; North Branch Nursery – perennials and flowering shrubs; Cynthia Lohrbach – decorative garden totems; Ruth Hasselman – assorted knitted, crocheted, woven, and quilted items; The Hot Pad Guy – hand-loomed hot pads; Grandma Jean’s Handmade Soaps; Mrs. Miller’s Amish Jams & Jellies and homemade strawberry shortcake by Beeker’s; Country Cupboard Ohio – country crafts and décor; Riverbank Antiques – garden antiques and accessories; Country Farmhouse – fresh sandwiches and salads; and Toft’s hand-dipped ice cream and novelties by Beeker’s Old-Fashioned Ice Cream.

Any local vendors or artisans interested in participating in the next Garden Party should call 419-287-3274 for more information or to hold a spot. A small fee is required in advance, and spaces are approximately 10-foot by 10-foot outside of Pemberville’s downtown businesses.
