BG Police investigating criminal trespassing incident at Montessori School

Bowling Green Police Division is investigating a criminal trespassing incident at the Montessori School, 515 Sand Ridge Road.

The director of the school called police Saturday (11/16) after she checked the facility’s video cameras from her phone. She reportedly observed a man inside the building at approximately 2:46 that morning.

Police officers searched the building and found an open window on the west side. There is a door near the open window for the same room and it appears the subject exited this door because the leaves on the concrete pad were disturbed and the door was ajar.

The school director checked the building and did not locate anything missing or out of place. She showed police the video of the subject – a black male, with a beard and small dreads, a moon shaped tattoo on his right arm, bar band on his right wrist, dressed in a white shirt, tan pants and white shoes.

The video reportedly showed the man first wandering around the outside of the school, attempting to open windows and the front door. The man rang the front door bell and stood there for a couple of minutes. Based on the man’s swaying while walking, police surmised he may have been intoxicated.

The video shows him on the eastside of the school, northside of the school and in the rear of the school. On the video the subject walks over to the westside of the school and then a few minutes later the subject is observed inside the school in the foyer.

On Sunday, the school director provided police with additional video that showed the man step into one of the garden beds at the rear of the building. Police checked the garden beds, but were unable to locate any footprints.

Police hope to have a photo of the suspect to post on the police division’s social media soon.
