Bowling Green Police charged a man with domestic violence after he allegedly strangled a woman in their apartment in the 400 block of Napoleon Road.
Aaron Smith, 19, was arrested Monday (11/25) around 5 p.m., and taken to Wood County Jail.
A woman reported to police that the incident took place Sunday around 10 p.m., after Smith allegedly took her phone and began deleting recordings of previous arguments that had. He then allegedly grabbed her by the hair, yanked her onto the couch, and began choking her.
She told police that when he let go, she tried to reach for her phone, but he slammed her into a wall, hitting her head. Smith allegedly grabbed her by the hair again, pulled her to the floor and began choking her harder.
Police noted that the woman had marks on her neck and bruising on one arm. She told police that Smith had threatened to take their child.
The next day (Monday), she tried to leave with the child when Smith allegedly told her she wasn’t allowed to leave. The woman told police Smith yanked on the carseat, and grabbed her car keys. He eventually gave her the keys.
