Abortion is healthcare. It’s absurd to have a vote to protect access

Issue One, or “the abortion amendment” is a hot topic as we head into Election Day 2023. It’s curious to me why this is such an emotionally charged issue. Abortion is healthcare; no different than someone being treated for high blood pressure or a broken leg. It would be absurd to have the state vote on the right to access cholesterol medicine or chemotherapy, so why are we voting on abortion?

Maybe we should go the full mile and allow the citizens of Ohio to vote on whether men have the right to access Viagra. Maybe we should impose strict limitations and government oversight on erectile dysfunction.

Oh, did I hit a nerve? Do you think the decision to use Viagra should be between a man and his doctor? Then you should trust women to keep abortion decisions between her and her doctor.

Don’t pretend this is about the children. This is about the government wanting to control women and nothing else. Early voting is happening now.

Election Day is November 7. Vote YES on Issue One to keep the government out of your uterus.
