For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil.

This, however, is not that story. This is the story of the Puffs, who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.

The cast includes Jeffrey Guion (Wayne Hopkins), Lee Nutter (Oliver Rivers), Hali Malecki (Megan Jones), Heath Diehl (Narrator), Trevor Walsh (Cedric), Nikki Fetters (Susie Bones), Nicholas Yates (J Finch Fletchley), Gloria Wang (Sally Perks), Steve Bishop (Ernie Mac), Samantha Heater (Hannah), and Kylie Schmehl (Leanne).

Written by Matt Cox, “Puffs” began as a small show made by friends at a small comedy venue, The People’s Improv Theater. It has since broken records off-Broadway in New York, was screened in movie theaters across the country with Fathom Events, and its production in Melbourne, Australia is Melbourne’s longest running play of the century. In 2016 it was an Off-Broadway Alliance Best Theatrical Experience Nominee.

The Black Swamp Players production of Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is directed by Bridget Drew.

Tickets for all performances are $20 at the door and in advance. Click to purchase advance tickets.

“Puffs” is the second of five productions to be mounted by The Black Swamp Players for its 2023-2024 season and is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.

Next up for The Players will be “The Moors,” written by Jen Silverman and directed

by Fran Martone, and that show will open on Jan. 12.
