A Bowling Green man was arrested Sunday around 1:45 a.m. after he reportedly tried opening several car doors in a downtown parking lot.

Police were dispatched to the city lot off East Court Street for reports of a man wandering through the parking lot pulling on door handles and setting off several car alarms.

Officers arrested Michael Bratton, 32, after reportedly finding him in the lot, smelling of alcohol, swaying while standing still, and unable to form coherent sentences. He denied trying to open several car doors, and said he was attempting to locate his vehicle in the parking lot.

According to the report, Bratton was unable to provide the location for his vehicle and refused to contact a sober individual for a ride. He was cited for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, and taken to Wood County Jail.
