Ambulance responding to emergency struck truck that reportedly failed to yield at intersection

An ambulance responding to an emergency on Monday struck a truck that reportedly failed to yield at the intersection of East Wooster Street and Dunbridge Road shortly after 6 p.m.

Bowling Green Police and Fire divisions responded to the crash which resulted in minor injuries.

According to the police report, a Mid County Ambulance District vehicle was traveling northbound on Dunbridge Road. It came to a stop at the intersection with East Wooster Street prior to proceeding through since traffic on Dunbridge Road had a red light.

As the ambulance attempted to clear the intersection, a semi truck proceeded through the intersection traveling eastbound and turning north onto Dunbridge Road.

After the semi had completed the turn, the ambulance reportedly entered the intersection.

A Logistics Inc. flatbed truck was reportedly traveling eastbound through the intersection behind the semi.

The front of the ambulance reportedly struck the truck bed. The truck driver told police he did not see the lights or hear the siren due to being behind the semi truck.

One person in the ambulance was taken by BG Fire Division to the hospital for possible minor injuries.
