Annual BG Zombie Mud Run set for Oct. 21

(Bowling Green Parks and Recreation)

The date has been set for the 3rd Annual BG Zombie Mud Run – Sunday, Oct. 21.

This is a truly collaborative community event as BG Parks & Recreation works with the Bowling Green High School DECA students in planning and promoting the event as part of their Senior Class project. We have also worked with the university students in various capacities including having their Construction Management majors construct some of our obstacles and having various student clubs and organizations volunteer at the event.

The Obstacle Course has also received support in the form of grants to purchase equipment from organizations such as the Bowling Green Community Foundation and Wood County Park District.

This is truly a fun experience for all ages and fitness levels as past participants have ranged in age from 5 years to 74 years. Participants put on a flag football belt and run through the 1 mile Obstacle Course Trail while evading the more than 50 Zombies they will encounter along the way.

The goal, besides having fun, is to make it through the run with at least 1 of your 3 flags still intact while the goal of the zombies, is to grab and remove your flags from the belt. Make it to the finish line with at least one flag and you are a “Survivor.” Fail to make it to the finish line with at least one flag and you are “Infected” from your encounter with the zombies.

So get dirty and have fun at the BG Zombie Mud Run! More registrations and details will be made available in the next few days.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISxj0btvyoY&t=2s
