This week’s featured dog from the Wood County Dog Shelter is Apollo, a 4-year-old husky mix that was brought in as a stray. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on his vaccines.
According to Dog Warden Jodi Harding, Apollo does really well with the other dogs at the shelter and is great walking on a leash. He spends time in the office and is pretty laid back – he just likes to be close to his people.
Staff recommends bringing any dogs from the household to meet him. It’s unknown how he is with cats, so any potential adopters are encouraged to bring their cats in to meet him first.
The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays.
