Armin Geist, 67, of Bowling Green, OH passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Armin was born to Arthur and Susanna (Herteux) Geist on October 8, 1950 in Bavaria, Germany.
Armin is survived by his wife Cecilia Geist of Bowing Green; daughters: Susanne Schwarck of Perrysburg; Brigitte (Gregory) Brown of Perrysburg; and Athena Geist of Bowling Green; sisters: Margitta (Otto) Reitz; Manuela (Herbert) Kiefer; Walfriede (Rainer) Imhof; and Rita (Fritz) Radlmaier all of Germany; brother-in-law: Ralf Scholtyssek of Germany; grandchildren: Chantel and Vivian; other family: Magda Geist and Chris Schwarck; Armin was preceded in death by his father Arthur Geist; and sister Maria Scholtyssek.
Armin graduated from vocational training school in Germany and went on to work in the hydraulics profession for the majority of his life. He enjoyed woodworking and completed all of the finishing work in Cecilia and his home. Armin also enjoyed downhill skiing and was an avid soccer fan. Not only was he a fan of soccer, he was excellent player, coach, and referee. More than anything Armin loved his family and friends from all over the world. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation for Armin will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME& CREMATORY 1460 W. Wooster Street/ P.O. Box 648 Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Tele 419-352-2171. Armin’s Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00AM in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME REMEMBRANCE CHAPEL. A celebration will be held in Germany at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Armin’s honor may be gifted to the Alzheimer’s Association.
