Beeker’s General Store in Pemberville to host ‘Sampling Saturday’ and recipe contest

Beeker's General Store decorated for Christmas

In preparation for the “big game” in February, Beeker’s General Store in Pemberville is pulling together its best food vendors for a taste testing extravaganza. The public is invited to join “Sampling Saturday” on Jan. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This event will provide an opportunity to try Amish edibles, local honey, homemade baked goods, Gianno’s Chocolates, Sechler’s pickles, Faro coffee, Brownwood Farms and more.

Not only will guests have a chance to sample many of these items, but they will also have a chance to “meet the maker” and ask questions of the purveyor.

An additional highlight of this event, includes the opportunity to vote for the “People’s Choice” recipe. Local “celebrities” and residents are participating in a contest in which Beeker’s will provide a mystery brown bag containing a product at the store. Each cook is being asked to create a delicious recipe with their mystery item and samples for taste testing.

Anyone with questions may call 419-287-3274.

If you would like to participate and compete for the “People’s Choice” recipe, contact Beeker’s General Store by Jan. 13.
