BG Exchange Club honors high school students of the month

The Bowling Green Exchange Club has recognized two Bowling Green high school seniors as Students of the Month. Hallie Webb is the December honoree and Thomas Long is the January recipient.

Both have outstanding academic accomplishments and rank in the top 10 of the senior class and have been inducted into the National Honor Society.

Webb has been on the soccer team for the last four years and has twice earned Scholar Athlete awards. She will continue playing soccer at Defiance College.

She has a strong interest in environmental science, which will be her chosen major when she enrolls at Defiance this fall. She has won numerous awards at local, district and state science fairs. In 2018 she participated in the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment in 2018.

Long has been active in theater. He has been with the Horizon Youth Theatre since 2009 and during that time has appeared in 29 shows. Since his freshman year he has been in Drama Club and has appeared in all the musicals as well as a number of dramas.

In April he will be playing the role of Prince Eric in the high school’s production of “The Little Mermaid” in April. Long, who plans to go to either Bowdoin College or Wooster College, has been in the high school choir all four years, singing baritone and bass and has brought that talent to the Madrigals.

For the last two years he has participated in the Ohio Music Education Association’s Solo and Ensemble competition earning superior ratings. He has been on the cross country team for four years as well as the track team and this past summer was a delegate to Buckeye Boy’s State.
