BG fire division invites public to open house on Saturday

The Bowling Green Fire Division will be performing a live burn demonstration, weather permittings at the Station 2 open house, 1060 Pearl St., on Saturday, Oct. 12. Everyone is encouraged to attend. The open house runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The burn will start at approximately 11 a.m. and should conclude by 11:30 a.m. Smoke may be noticed in the neighborhoods adjacent to the fire station. 

If you have any medical conditions that may be impacted by the smoke, you are encouraged to keep your windows and doors shut. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the Fire Division at 419-352-3106.

The open house will also include a free lunch, fire extinguisher demonstration at 10 a.m., technical rescue demonstration at 10:30 a.m., and auto extrication demonstration using the Jaws of Life at noon.

Those attending will be able to operate a real fire hose, sit in fire trucks and ambulances, tour the fire station, go through the fire safety trailer, and pick up brochures.
