Bowling Green Fire Division dealt with emergencies at Fricker’s, Eric’s Ice Cream, and a house fire this evening.

Firefighters were at Fricker’s cleaning up a leak from a car that hit something on the highway, when they got a call about smoke from a light switch in the restroom at Eric’s Ice Cream, Fire Capt. Scott Eschedor said tonight.

The smoke was from a defective switch, he said. There was no damage to the store, which was able to stay in operation.

Then firefighters were called to a two-story rental house fire in the 400 block of Clough Street. The fire started with cooking in the kitchen, Eschedor said.

The first floor of the house suffered heavy fire and smoke damage, and the second floor suffered heavy smoke damage.

“We got there and knocked it down pretty quick,” Eschedor said.

There were no injuries, but the house is uninhabitable, he said.
