BG fireworks usher in July 4th

After a year of no fireworks because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce staged the annual Independence Day Eve event Saturday.

As a concession to COVID-19, the fireworks had a different setting. Instead of firing them off from the football stadium on campus, the launching site was the National Tractor Pulling Championships property on Haskins Road. People gathered at spots throughout the area, including the golf course, Middle School parking lot, parking lots adjacent to the Wood County Fairgrounds, as well as their front lawns to watch the display, which lasted about 40 minutes.
